Lady Eagles score comeback win over Kansas Wesleyan

Bartlesville, Okla. — Nichole Tate led four home players in double figures in Oklahoma Wesleyan’s battling 64-54 win over Kansas Wesleyan in the OKWU Classic on Saturday night.

The Lady Eagles once again started slowly and found themselves trailing 32-29 at the first half whistle, before rallying to outscore the visitors 35-22 in the second half to take the victory.

Tate shot 6-of-14 from the field to finish the game with 14 points. The sophomore also had seven rebounds on the night.

Courtney Backward scored 13 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Megan Jones had 11 points and Kayla Oleman ended with 10.

The Lady Eagles have also won four in a row and are 4-1 on the season.

Mark Molder’s side will next face Friends University on Tuesday night – a time that handed OKWU its only defeat of the season in the year opener.
