Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed a federal lawsuit against the Obama administration Friday on behalf of four Christian universities in Oklahoma. Oklahoma Wesleyan University is one of the four. The lawsuit is the latest to challenge the administration’s mandate that forces employers, regardless of their religious or moral convictions, to provide insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception under threat of heavy penalties.
If your first thought about the lawsuit was “why?” or if you would like more information about the suit, perhaps a few words from OKlahoma Wesleyan University’s President Dr. Piper will shed some light on the matter.
Dr. Piper’s first column about the lawsuit, titled “We Believe” was published in the local paper, The Examiner Enterprise. The RedState, The Oklahoma Council Public Affairs, and Congressman Bridenstine have since published the column on their website.
His second column “Don’t Tear Down This Wall” brings further clarification. Both columns address why this Wesleyan university feels that it must join the suit against Kathleen Sebellius, HHS, the Affordable Care Act, and the Obama Administration.
For more information about the lawsuit, listen to Dr. Piper’s interview on the Pat Campbell show on KFAQ Tulsa Talk Radio.
