The Weekly Spiritual Devotion is a very creative way for students to prosper inwardly and for me to instill the written word

I would like to say that I am grateful for OKWU online program. I am a Soldier who has been deployed to Iraq for a year+. I have been in this part of the world prior when I spent two years deployed to Egypt.

I began to complete a self assessment of where I am with my life and where I wanted to be in my life. I had a strong desire to redevelop my relationship with Christ. Touring the Holy Land had inspired such a strong aspiration to rekindle my devotion to a higher level. When I completed this initial tour, I prayed for God to lead and use me.

Presently I am an executive member of a nonprofit organization and I have created a few charities as an extension of services to our public. God has provided such satisfaction of His work through the generosity of my work. This tour I know is the second part of my inner growth in Christ. I serve Him as the Senior Medic in a clinic outside of a risky town which the population is filled with widows and children.

Although the sun shines high there is a lot of darkness here. Many have been overcome by unmasked destruction. I can testify that there still is a wealth of beauty for those who can see. I collect them in the smiles, the hugs, the questions and through the goodness in others. I am only human too and all to aware of the risk but my faith is shown before me in the transformation of the angels who protect us and the others, the fellowship of finding Christians in the center of havoc, the strength of prayer and the written Word to guide and the dwelling within of the Holy Spirit has blessed me to help bless others.

Recently I completed my Associates degree and I had too many choices to select for the concentration area of my next degree. I gave my thoughts to prayer for a request in the academics necessary to assist me in my position within our nonprofit and to promote Spiritual growth in me so I can help others to grow too. I found OKWU when I was not searching and it was confirmed in the middle of a quiet night that this was the correct institution for me.

The Weekly Spiritual Devotion is a very creative way for students to prosper inwardly and for me instill the written word in the context of building a foundation of required course-work which I believe is a better way to understand in the core of learning. In every opportunity I find a reason to share my assignments or speak of the insights to fellow Soldiers, Church members and family. I am looking forwards to my return home but until then the Works of the Lord is still at hand. Thank You for giving me the opportunity to further excel in Christ.
