Fall 2008 Alumni News
Summer is past and a new school year has begun here at OWU.
Do you remember your first experience of coming onto campus, whether it be in Pasadena, Colorado Springs, Miltonvale, or Bartlesville? Were you with your parents or did you come alone? I still remember driving in, my heart all-a-flutter and the nerves going crazy. It was my first experience of being away from home, basically on my own, not knowing who my roommate would be or if we would even like each other, if I would make friends easily, if I would be able to make the grades…actually the academic side of the equation was on the low end! I found a friend right away; my roommate became a great confidant; and the academics became a joy as I learned about my professors and their love for teaching with a God-centered view. Things really haven’t changed much in these areas. Students still come on campus wondering the same things and finding life-long friends in the process. We are looking forward to meeting the new students and renewing friendships of those who are returning. It’s going to be a great year. Come see us whenever you get the chance. The campus is changing before our eyes and it’s really exciting.
