I may be biased, but God has given me the most loving wife and kids in the world. Mindy is the State Director for Programmatic Training in an Indiana program called, “First Steps.” Caleb (9) is entering the fourth grade and Courtney (8) is entering the second grade this month. We enjoy spending time and playing sports together. A highlight of each day is our Family Altar every night.
At General Conference for The Wesleyan Church six weeks ago, I was elected to lead the newly formed Department of Spiritual Formation for the denomination. This department now combines the function of the former Youth Department and former Sunday school and Discipleship Department.
The Spiritual Formation Department is responsible for the lifetime process of becoming like Jesus Christ for all Children, Youth and Adults in and around The Wesleyan Church. Prior to this assignment, I have been the Senior Pastor of a great church – Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church in Greenfield, Indiana. The journey to this job is far too long to describe here, but it is very safe to say that God definitely led us to this point and we’re depending upon His continued help.
Our family will continue to actively worship and participate at Brown’s Chapel as much as we are able. We will have a different role, obviously, but we are grateful to be in such a relationship that we can stay “home” and support the church we love so much. Over the years, I have been involved in the community by serving on many leadership boards and committees. I have also been a member of the Greenfield Rotary Club and coached soccer and basketball teams for kids of various ages.
In my spare time, I love to spend as much time as I can with Mindy, Caleb and Courtney.
“My best memory of OKWU — While I don’t miss sweating in the library during August and September or doing bear crawls in basketball practice, my best memory of OKWU, simply put, is people. The mutual respect with professors/administrators/staff and the lifetime friendships with peers – people are what I appreciate the most in my memory of being a student at OKWU.”
