Wesleyan Missionary to Russia
Originally from South Dakota, Brenda attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University from 1986-1990 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science. It was during those years that God began to direct her to cross-cultural ministries. Shortly after graduating, Brenda spent five months in Fortaleza, Brazil, working with the Wesleyan missionaries and churches in the area. After spending two years as a House Mother at a home for pregnant women in Sioux Falls, S.D., the opportunity finally came to get back into missions. In July 1994, she headed to Russia as a one-year GoNet volunteer. One year led to a second, which led to a three-year term as a career missionary. After teaching several classes at the Vladimir Wesleyan Bible College, Brenda decided that further education would be beneficial to both her and her students, and in 2000, returned to the States to begin study at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. Brenda graduated with a M. Div. in August 2003, and returned to Vladimir to resume teaching in January 2004.
