Wesleyan Missionaries to the Czech Republic

Photo of Jason & Kerensa McFrederick

In November 2002 Jason and Kerensa McFrederick were appointed to intern missionary service to the Czech Republic. Jason was raised in a Christian home and grew up attending a Wesleyan church. He then found himself at Bartlesville Wesleyan College, and through a series of circumstances and “consequences,” he came to know the Lord personally. Kerensa (Turner) also grew up in The Wesleyan Church, and while she was in elementary school, her father became a Wesleyan minister. She remembers praying to receive Christ as a child and realizing in high school who Christ was—in and through her. After her freshman year in college, the Holy Spirit sanctified Kerensa, and she continues to trust and pursue Him. Both Jason and Kerensa are graduates of Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Jason’s degrees include a B.S. in general science and an M.A. in Christian ministry (from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas). He was ordained in The Wesleyan Church in July 2002. Kerensa earned a B.S. in education with an endorsement in ESOL. Through Jason’s short-term mission experiences, he sensed a call to world missions. Kerensa sensed God speaking to her about being a missionary when she was quite young. She has always known that He wanted her to be actively involved in missions in some capacity. Jason and Kerensa have a daughter, Mollyn (’03) and a son, Niam (‘05).
