Assistant Coach: Barrett Lauer

Barrett Lauer is in his first season as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Barrett comes to OKWU from the University of St. Thomas were he played for 4 years under coach Todd Smith.

In Barrett’s four years at St. Thomas he played valuable minutes from the start of his career. In Lauer’s junior season he started every game for the celts, and helped to lead the team to a 18-13 record.

In his senior season he averaged 18 minutes a game and was voted a caption on the 28-5 Top 25 ranked team. Lauer and his team earned a trip to the National Tournament were they lost to the eventual national champion by 3 points.

Prior to St. Thomas Lauer played at Montgomery High School where he was a 2 year starter. In his senior season he was a unanimous first team all-district selection, an all county selection, as well as a Houston area basketball coaches all-star.

Other experiences include working with all age groups of Cutting Down the Nets Basketball Academy as well as working the Duke University Basketball Camps.

Barrett is from Montgomery, TX and graduated from St. Thomas University Cum Laude.
