Caleb Longshore (2nd Year) – Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordination

Caleb Longshore will be in his second year as the pitching coach at OKWU while serving his first year as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Eagles. In 2013 the Eagles posted their 3rd straight 30+ win season.

Eagle’s RHP CJ Gregory earned Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference awards as the 2013 Freshman of the Year for the MCAC and Reliever of the Year for the MCAC during Longshore’s inaugural year as the Eagles’ pitching coach. The Eagles also produced a NAIA leading 9 Academic All-Americans during the 2013-2014 season.

Following his playing career, Longshore remained with the Trojans as the volunteer assistant under newly acquired head coach and former MLB scout, Mike Lord. In January 2012, Longshore was named the head baseball Coach of the Susan Moore High School Bulldogs in Alabama. Longshore also served as the pitching coach for the Middle Tennessee Outlaws in 2011, and has served as the head coach for the Outlaws the past two summer seasons.

Longshore, a right handed pitcher from Cleveland, Alabama, began his collegiate playing career at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama. As a freshman, Longshore posted an 8-3 record with a 3.63 ERA and ranked in the NJCAA top 10 in walks and runs allowed.

As a sophomore, Longshore posted a 7-3 record with a 3.73 Era and was ranked in the NJCAA top 10 in innings pitched (111), walks per 9 (1.7) and total walks allowed (21). Longshore helped guide Jefferson State to back-to-back 35 win seasons and two NJCAA regionals where he received All-Conference and All-Regional awards as well as being named a NJCAA Academic All-American.

Longshore continued his playing career at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. As a junior, Longshore was named pitcher of the year by the Trojans for his roles in the pitching staff. While at Trevecca, Longshore posted a 6-4 record with 3 saves for the Trojans.

Longshore has a B.A. in History Education from Trevecca Nazrene University and will be pursuing his Masters of Education while at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
