BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (11-9-09) – When the Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball teams face off with Rogers State University on Tuesday night, there won’t be much color in the Mueller Sports Center as a blackout is planned.

Fans attending the highly anticipated contest between the local rival schools are encouraged to wear black shirts as they are cheer on the Lady Eagles and Eagles.

Oklahoma Wesleyan is expecting a sold out crowd for the contests.

The Oklahoma Wesleyan athletic department has ordered black t-shirts with the athletic logo across the chest. Shirts will be for sale on Tuesday in the Mueller Sports Center for seven dollars. However, they will be available earlier at a discounted price by contacting Donnie Bostwick or Garrett Jones in the athletic offices.

The men’s contest looks to be the biggest to hit northeast Oklahoma in years as the defending National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Div. II National Champions and No. 1 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan host the NAIA Div. I No. 7 ranked Rogers State Hillcats. The Eagles enter the game with a 2-0 record, while the Hillcats have won their only contest. Game time is scheduled for 7:30.

On the women’s side, the Lady Eagles look to retain their bragging rights with the Rogers State women. Last season, the Lady Eagles defeated Rogers State in their homecoming game. While the Lady Eagles are 2-1, the Hillcats are 1-0. Tip off is set for 5:30.

Both schools are located just 45 minutes apart, and Rogers State has a satellite campus in Bartlesville.
