BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (1-25-10) – The Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday afternoon that Oklahoma Wesleyan University guard Kristen Dixon was named Player of the Week for week ending Jan. 24.

In two games last week, Dixon averaged 20 points, and shot just over 41 percent from behind the arch, knocking down 7-of-17 three-pointers.

In just her first game at home as a Lady Eagle, the junior college transfer converted two free-throws with 3.6 seconds left to lift the Lady Eagles past Central Christian College (Kan.). Dixon finished the contest with a career high 27-points, including shooting 6-for-10 from the field and perfect at the line out of ten shots.

Following a quick turnaround, Dixon and the Lady Eagles took No. 17 Haskell Indian Nations (Kan.) down to the wire, falling to the Indians, 73-69. The Chouteau, Okla., native, added 13-points, three assists and two steals to her weekend total in the close loss.

After going one and one this weekend, the Lady Eagles (5-15, 1-3) gear up for rival and national powerhouse College of the Ozarks (Mo.) on Tuesday at home. The Lady Bobcats are ranked No. 9 in NAIA Div. II. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
