After two tough losses on Friday, the Eagles came back out on Saturday and came out victorious winning both games 10-6 and 4-0 respectively. The Eagles (6-4) in first game came out swinging the bats and kept on swinging. They were lead by Junior Outfielder Cory Ford, Freshmen Infielder Jose Ruiz, and Senior Infielder JD Nalder. They combined to go for 8-11 on the day. Ruiz came up big with hitting a 2 run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Nalder went 4 for 4 on the day with two RBI’s as well. Freshmen Pitcher Evan White (1-0) came into the ball game in the top of the sixth inning and finished it out to get the victory over Grandview University (IA).

In the night cap, Junior Pitcher Thomas Kellner (2-0) came out and threw his second complete game shutout of the week. Kellner went seven innings of scoreless baseball giving up six hits, walking two, and striking nine on the night. Offensively the Eagles were lead by Junior Corey Ford and Senior Catcher Brett Holte, combining to go 3-6 on the night. Holte went 1-3 with 2 huge RBI’s to help lead the OKWU Baseball team past Viterbo University (WI) 4-0.

Next up for the OKWU Baseball team is five games this week against St. Gregory’s University (OK) Tuesday at 2pm at OKWU Field, Wednesday at Ecclesia College (AR) 1pm, and Hastings College (NE) Friday and Saturday. Friday night’s games are a DH starting at 4 at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium in Downtown Bartlesville and Saturday is at OKWU Field starting at 12pm.
