BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (11-16-09) – The Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s basketball team avenged a 2008 loss to Southwestern Christian University on Tuesday night, taking down the visitors, 115-85. Five Wesleyan Eagles ended the game in double figures, keeping the scoring balanced throughout.

Leading the way for Wesleyan, now 6-0, in the contest were three Eagles with 14-points, including seniors Aron Crowley and Mike McNeil, and Glenpool, Okla., standout junior Levi Mooney. Other scorers in double figures were 2009 NAIA Div. II All-American Sadiel Rojas with 13 and freshman Deatre Harlan added 11. Rojas also pulled down 13 rebounds in the contest.

From the opening tip, the Wesleyan men had control of the contest, knocking down three pointer after three pointer, on their way to a total of 19 for a school record, crushing the previous mark of 16 set against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) and Southwestern College (Kan.) last season.

As a team, the Eagles outrebounded Southwestern Christian nearly two to one, pulling down 52 rebounds to the visitors 25. Southwestern Christian only record a total of six offensive boards.

Shooting was no problem, as the Eagles converted 51.7 percent of their field goals, including the 19 from behind the arc.

Leading the visitors from Bethany, Okla., was Reimond Prince with 26-points and Josh Gamblin added 23. Both players were the only two for Southwestern Christian in double figures.

Up next for the Eagles, they head to Wichita, Kan., for a battle with Friends University (Kan.) in the Friends University Classic on Friday. Tip off is set for 8 p.m., followed by a contest with Bethel College (Kan.) in Wichita on Saturday at 2 p.m.
