BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (12-4-09) – Hot shooting in the first half helped the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles cruise to a 34-point victory over Ozark Christian College (Mo.), 105-71. The win over the Ambassadors improves the Eagles (13-0) winning streak to 31-straight games, and 27-straight in the Mueller Sports Center.

The nation’s top National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Div. II team out rebounded the Ambassadors, 65 to 34. The total boards for the Eagles sets a team record for rebounds in a game.

All but one Eagle that saw action on Saturday scored, with five OKWU players finishing the contest in double figures. Leading the way was All-American’s Steve Briggs and Sadiel Rojas each had 14-points. Rojas also finished with 11-rebounds, earning his eighth double-double of the season.

Other Eagles finished the game in double figures include sophomore Brian James with 13, junior Levi Mooney had four three’s for 12-points, and freshman Deantre Harlan finished with 11, all coming in the first half.

Of the 105-points scored by Oklahoma Wesleyan, 72 of them came in the first half, as the Eagles knocked down 26 of their 46 shots from the field for 56.6 percent. The Eagles finished the game with 42.2-percent shooting.

Returning to the floor on Tuesday night, the Eagles will face Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore, Okla. In the first contest against the Saints, the Eagles won easily, 95-63. On Jan. 13, OKWU will head to Springdale, Ark., for a contest with Ecclesia College, before beginning conference play on Jan. 15 in Peru, Neb.
