BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (5-6-09) – Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball is proud to announce the recent signing of 5-5 guard Chantri Harper to a letter of intent for the 2009-2010 basketball season.
A native of Soper, Okla., Harper helped lead her team to the schools first district title in 25 years, behind her 13.4 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals a game. She was also named to the Choctaw County All-Tournament Hustle team this past season.
As a four-year starter for the Red-Bears, she was also named All-Conference her sophomore season, and picked up the Coleman All-Tournament team stop the next season.
“We are excited about what Chantri can bring to us over the next four seasons,” said Lady Eagle coach Britney Kannady. “Chantri has proved she can be a leader in high school, and feel she will move into that role at the next level.”
The Lady Eagles finished the 2008-09 season with a record of 14-16. Wesleyan opens up on the 2009-10 season with a home date on Nov. 3.
