The OKWU Men’s Basketball team continued their success this past weekend with 2 victories in the Friends Classic, but what was most impressive was the fact that Head Coach Donnie Bostwick reached the milestone of 100 wins in the Eagle’s victory over Bethel College.

In just his fourth year as head coach of the OKWU Eagles, Donnie Bostwick has accomplished some pretty amazing things including both MCAC regular season and conference tournament championships, NAIA Sweet Sixteen and Final Four appearances, the 2009 NAIA National Championship, and National Coach of the Year Awards, just to name a few. Even after all of this success Coach Bostwick is still very humble saying “This is one accomplishment that needs to be shared praise with so many people. Starting with my staff and both former and current players who have played just as big a role as the head coach. I am blessed beyond what I deserve to have such great people surrounding me. We have incredible fans and a wonderful community that deserves praise as well. They are the big reason why we are so successful at home. The truth is this: Wins and championships are great, but if I have not played a part in winning 100 or more souls, then all of this is for not. Souls are the only thing that I can take to heaven with me.” Another amazing thing to say about Coach Bostwick is the fact that he will probably continue with his success because he has his priorities straight. When asked what is coaching goals from here are he says “God, family, and then my job. Odd how when you seek God as David did, then He takes care of the goals. I try not to limit Him. My goal is to save souls, disciple and mentor kids.”

Oklahoma Wesleyan University and the Eagle Basketball Team is truly blessed to have Coach Donnie Bostwick as a part of their community!
