BARTESLVILLE, Okla. (12-9-09) – Despite falling just short of postseason play during the 2009 season, several OKWU Volleyball players received honors for their accomplishments on the court, including senior Stephanie Lee, juniors Alicia Efron and Leslie Smith, and sophomore Randa Roberts.
The Lady Eagles, 11-19 this season, was led defensively by the senior Lee, who was named Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference and to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Central All-Region team. Lee averaged 2.47 digs a set, while helping out offensively with 6.67 assists a set.
Efron was the leading Lady Eagle offensively. Her 2.73 kills a set helped her earn honors as Second Team All-Conference in the MCAC, as well as a spot on the Central All-Region Team.
Picking up MCAC All-Conference Honorable Mentions this season was Smith and Roberts. Roberts finished just behind Efron as the team with the second most kills at a total of 214, and Smith was third with 155.
