BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (1-25-10) – For the second time this season, and the sixth time in his career, the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference gave Player of the Week honors to Steve Briggs for the week ending Jan. 24.

A career high 46-points helped the Duncanville, Texas, native to a three game average of 26-points in victories over Central Bible College (Mo.), Central Christian College (Kan.), and Haskell Indian Nations (Kan.).

Despite the game versus Central Christian being a career scoring night, it was also the first time in the All-American guard’s career he dished out seven assists, only to follow that performance up with a 22-point and seven assist game against Haskell.

This season, Briggs is averaging 20.5 points a ball game, and 3.65 assists as well for the Eagles.

The Eagles (20-0, 4-0) are riding a 38-game winning streak into a showdown with the team to last beat them, College of the Ozarks (Mo.). Last season, Briggs and the Eagles got the best of the Bobcats three out of four games, including the NAIA Div. II National Championship contest.

The Wesleyan men will then head to Bellevue, Neb., for a match up with NAIA Div. II No. 19 Bellevue University on Saturday.
