BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (9-18-09) – The Oklahoma Wesleyan Athletic Department released the OKWU Men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming 2009-10 season, and it looks to be one of the toughest seasons and many years.

Coming off of a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division II national championship, the Eagle Men are scheduled to face the winner of the NAIA Div. I national champion Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) on Dec. 19 in Billings, Mont.

Opening the season on Nov. 3 at home, the Eagles face two straight Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents, before hosting regional rival Rogers State University on Nov. 10. RSU finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in NAIA Div. I.

The 2009-10 schedule also features two classics for the Eagle men, including the Evangel University Classic in Springfield, Mo. on Nov. 13 and 14, and the Friends University Classic in Wichita, Kan. the next weekend. The Eagles also travel to face NAIA Div. 1 opponent Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Dec. 15.

On Jan. 15, the men will travel to Peru State College (Neb.) to open their title defense in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The long awaited rematch of the NAIA Div. I national title game against rival College of the Ozarks (Mo.) will take place on Jan. 26 at home, followed by a return trip the next week at Point Lookout. The Eagles also face off against perennial NAIA Div. II tournament qualifier twice during the same period.

All Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball home games will be webcasted through DakStats.com, as well as live video feed from inside the Mueller Sports Center.

The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball schedule will be released late Monday afternoon.
