BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Oklahoma Wesleyan University Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Donnie Bostwick, is pleased to announce the signing of 6 student athletes from the state of Texas. “We’ve been blessed in the past to get great talent from Texas and this year is no different. We are extremely pleased with the quality young men that have decided to pursue their education and love for basketball at OWU.” said Bostwick.

Brandon Hamilton, who helped lead Stafford High School to two consecutive Texas State Tournaments, has signed a letter of intent with Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Stafford, TX native has received numerous honors during his high school career. The 6’5” Hamilton was selected TABC All-State, All-Region, and Offensive player of the year in his district, all while averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block per contest. “Brandon’s shooting and athletic ability fit our system and we look forward to him doing great things on and off the basketball court. He’s a great young man and we are privileged to have him in our program.” said Bostwick.

Caleb Gentry, of Hondo High School, who was honored by being named District 29-3A MVP, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. While earning district honors Caleb also was also selected to the All-Region and TABC All-State teams. During his senior season, Gentry, a 6’0” guard averaged 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assist per contest. “Caleb’s energy and guard skills are special. His ability to make others better and score at the same time will make him a nice addition to our program.” said Bostwick

Philipp Jahn, of Longview Christian, who averaged 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assist in his senior season, has signed a letter of intent to play for Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The 6’5” Berlin, Germany native was recently honored by being named to the TAPPS All-State team while also being selected to the TAPPS Academic All-State team in the process. “Philipp has a ton of potential. He has athletic ability, and a nice skill set to go along with his high character. We look forward to watching Philipp’s development in our program.” said Bostwick

Josh Young, of Wylie High School, who was recently named to the Texas Academic All-State team and the All District 8-5A team, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Eagles this upcoming season. “You’re not going to find a better kid than Josh. His abilities in the classroom are just a small piece of what this young man brings to the table. His playing making abilities, shooting, and passion for the game will make him a favorite on campus and in the community.” said Bostwick. The Wylie, TX native averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds while leading his team in 3’s made.

Jordan Williams, another Wylie High School product has committed to play for Wesleyan. During his senior season, Williams, a 6’4” forward was called on to bring rebounding, defense and athleticism to the table. “Jordan helped lead Wylie to a 19-12 record in a tough district and was called upon to guard some of the biggest players in that district every night. He’s accustom to playing against good talent and that will aid his development at OWU.” Said Bostwick

Adam Martinez, of Mansfield High School, who was described by his high school coach as one of the hardest workers he’s ever coached, has signed to play basketball for Oklahoma Wesleyan University. “Adam is the definition of hard work. He is willing to leave it all on the floor. His passion and skill set will allow him to develop into a nice player for us.” Said Bostwick. Martinez played the guard spots for Mansfield High School who finished second in District 4-5A with a 19 and 11 record.

The Eagles look to build on the success they have experienced the past three season’s under Bostwick’s guidance. Oklahoma Wesleyan University men’s basketball program has made the NAIA Div. II National Tournament each of the past three seasons claiming the national title in 2009 and recently reaching the Final Four in 2010.
