OKWU junior, Edward Johnson, hailed as the fastest man at the NCCAA National Indoor Meet by winning the men’s 55m dash in 6.40 seconds. He also set a new fieldhouse and NCCAA meet record with his sprint. Johnson will continue his indoor season at the NAIA National Indoor Meet March 5th – 7th.
Sophomore, Alica Efron, was the runner-up in the women’s shot put, throwing the shot 39’ 3.25”. She also placed 5th in the weight throw with a personal best throw of 44’4”.
Leslie Smith, Tera Hughes, Micah Jenner and Sunshine Wharton all worked together to place 4th in the women’s 4×800. The team finished the race in 10:31.56. The same group of ladies finished 7th in the women’s 4×200.
Jessica Imhoff placed 7th in the women’s triple jump with a season best leap of 33’4.5”.
The men’s 4×200 finished 5th with a time of 1:37.28. The relay consisted of Scott Coutouzis, Edward Johnson, Rich Brown and Devon Arredondo.
The men’s 4×800 finished 7th. The racers were Devon Arredondo, Danny James, Kirk Taylor and James Hensel.
David Rannabargar finished 9th in the men’s 3000m run. He finished with a personal best time of 9:10.44.
