The Eagles traveled to Springdale, AR to play Ecclesia College in a double header. In the first game the Eagles got down early 3-0 after three innings of play. In the top of the 4th the Eagles started to take the walks and the hit by pitches to take the lead back 6-3. Junior Pitcher Trevor Cook (2-2) started on the mound and he went four innings scattering three hits, one walk, and striking out three to get the win. In the top of the 5th is when the Eagles exploded for 10 runs expanding there lead to 16-3. Ecclesia fought back to make the score 16-9, but the Eagles held on.
In the second game it was a different story Eagles just could not get anything going against the Royals of Ecclesia. OKWU left 10 men on base while scattering eights hits on the day. Junior Outfielder Cory Ford took the lead in the home run race on the team with his second of the year. Senior Infielder JD Nalder went 2-3 with a double to help the Eagles, but it just was not enough as the Eagles lost 3-4.
The Eagles (8-5) have Hastings College (NE) in a three game series starting Friday night with a double header at 4pm at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium in Downtown Bartlesville. Eagles finish the series at their home field on Saturday at 12pm.
