The Oklahoma Wesleyan University Baseball team opened the 2011 season this past Saturday with a 10-9 win over Mid America Christian University on January 29th at Doenges Field.
The Eagles recorded a total of 16 hits on the afternoon, with Cory Ford and Mason Feeler stepping up with 4 and 3 respectively. The Eagles pitching staff was led by Senior Nick Randolph and Junior Zack Michel throwing for a total of 9 out of the 14 innings played. Randolph gave up 5 hits and only 1 run in his 4 innings of work, but Michel came in and held Mid-America Christian to no hits and not allowing them to score in a tied ball game. Michel came into the in the 9th inning and came out after the 13th inning. The pitcher that ended up getting the win was Junior Trevor Cook (1-0), throwing the top of the 14th.

In the bottom of the 9th with two out Sophomore Outfielder Josh Hemsoth hit a game tying triple to send the game into extra innings. In the bottom of the 14th Sophomore Infielder Mason Feeler came up with the game winning hit up the middle into centerfield scoring Freshmen Infielder Ian Moreno.

The next game for the Eagles is a trip to Batesville, AR to play Lyon College February 4th and 5th.
