The Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2010-11 All-MCAC Basketball awards this past weekend and OKWU athletics was well represented.
On the women’s side senior Kristen Dixon was named to the Honorable Mention All-MCAC Team. Dixon is a 5-6 guard from Chouteau, OK and was a two year started and team captain. She lead the Lady Eagles is scoring (13.5ppg), assists (67), and steals (69).
The Eagle men were represented well on the All-MCAC teams including Head Coach Donnie Bostwick Coach of the Year, Sadiel Rojas Player of the Year, Dominique Rambo Freshman of the Year/All-MCAC Honorable Mention, and Murray Shaw All-MCAC First Team.
Sadiel Rojas is a senior, power forward from Duncanville, TX. He had a remarkable season averaging a double-double with 25.8ppg and 11.5rpg. Overall this season he scored 775 points while shooting 56% from the field and 35% from 3-point land. Rojas has been a member of the NAIA All-American team the past two seasons and is awaiting to hear about this season.
MCAC Freshman of the Year, Dominique Rambo, is a 5’9 guard from Dallas, TX. Bo averaged 14.2ppg this season scoring a total of 427 points. He also lead the Eagles in assists (100) and steals (83). Fans get to see Rambo for three more seasons!
Senior forward Murray Shaw was also a member of the All-MCAC First Team. Shaw averaged 12.8ppg and grabbed 5 rebounds a game. Shaw is well known for his ability to take over big games in crunch time, he has hit many crucial shots in his tenure at OKWU and will hopefully hit a few more in the national tourney this year!
Head Coach Donnie Bostwick was named the MCAC Conference Coach of the Year. He has lead the Eagles to a share of the regular season MCAC Conference Title and an amazing 27-4 record this past season. The past three seasons, Bostwick has taken the Eagles to the NAIA national tourney and won the NAIA national championship in 2009.
