Oklahoma Wesleyan cross country teams will conclude the season at the NCCAA and NAIA national championships this month.

After finishing the regular season as no.5 ranked team in the American Midwest/MCAC conference, the men’s team, led by conference champion David Rannabagar along with seniors James Hensel and Devon Arredondo, head to Cedarville, OH, where they will compete at the NCCAA champion on Saturday, November 13.

The team managed to shave three-minutes off their time from last season and head coach Gary Smith expects a good showing this weekend.

“The team is peaking at the right time and I can’t wait to see how they will perform in this last race.

“The guys were so excited about going to Cedarville and I expect them to be in the top half of the team scoring.”

Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles, will continue their preparation for next weekend’s NAIA championships in Vancouver, Wash.

The no.1 ranked MCAC women’s team leaves on Thursday November 18 for the championships, which will be held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site on Nov 20.

“It will be tricky for us because I really have no clue as to how the ladies will run,” Smith said.

“But they have been working really hard in training and I am hoping they will be able to hold their peak for another weekend.”

Rannabagar, who last week broke his own school record for the second time this season – after slicing 50-seconds off his previous mark when running 25-minutes and 49-seconds for the 8K last weekend, will also compete at the NAIA meet.
