The OKWU Eagles baseball team opened the season against the Lyon College Scots this past weekend. The Eagles battled through a rain delay to open on Friday night. After the large amount of anticipation, the Eagles dropped game one of the series with a score of 11 – 1. Josh Davis scoring the Eagles first run of the season and only run in Game 1. Davis was driven in by a Nick Palese single in the 2nd inning.
​The Eagles (0-1) played a double header today to finish up the series against the Scots (1 -0). In the first game the Eagles fell to the Scots 16 to 2. Shane Elliott, scored off a single by Nick White in the 2nd inning. The Eagles scored again in the 7th inning when Jose Ruiz drove in Lance Black with a single.
​The Eagles (0-2) suffered a tough lose in game two of the double header. The Scots (2-0) jumped out to an early 6 run lead, but the Eagles mounted a rally late in the game. The rally began with Jarrett Hardy getting on base with a double in the 6th inning. Hardy was moved to third by a Jake Palese single. Hardy came in to score on a pick off attempt. Palese advanced to 2nd and was driven in by a Landon Clouds RBI single.  In the 7th inning, the Eagles put together 2 runs off 2 hits. OKWU was also hit by 3 pitches in this inning. After a strong rally and a tough battle, the Eagles fall to the Scots 7 – 5. Your Eagles will be back in action on February 7th against Bacone College at Doenges Stadium.
