Oklahoma Wesleyan University’s Men and Women Soccer team participated in the Swede Classic this past weekend and both found their form as both walked away winning the Classic with two wins on the weekend.

The men’s soccer team played Sterling on Friday night and gained their first win of the season in style. Julio Rodarte from El Paso, streaked down the sideline and fired a missle into the back of the net for his first college goal. Lucas Almedia put in two goals with his head, while Lucas Corderio and Ben Williams also found the net for the first time in their College career. Lucas Almeida brought life to the game with his scoring and high energy on the pitch. The win brought the Eagles record to 1-1.

Men’s Soccer faced Bethany College in Lindsborg, Ks Saturday afternoon. The Eagles scored quickly with Co-Captain Lucas Almedia scoring on a Julio Rodarte cross. The man of the match was Lucas Cordeiro scoring three goals and completing the Hattrick. Co-Captain David Critchley found himself one on one with the goalie and chipped the ball over the keepers head to get his first goal of the season. Justin Camacho sent a cross in that found Andres Gacharna in the box where he headed the ball into the side netting. Jack Ord kept a clean sheet as his defense led by Bartlesville’s Hector Herrera kept the ball away from their end. Eagles won both games on the weekend, winning the Swede Classic scoring 11 goals and only conceding one. The Eagles are now 2-1 and will face Saint Gregory’s University Tuesday at 5:00, at OKWU Soccer Complex.
