Despite 30 mph winds whipping Oklahoma red dirt, the OKWU tracksters competed hard this weekend in Edmond.

Sophomore, Danny James, threw his personal best in the Men’s Javelin. His distance of 150.00’ was good for 3rd place. Fellow teammates Jentry Blain and Rich Brown captured fourth and fifth with 140.01’ and 136.00’ respectively. The success continued in the men’s discus: James placed 5th with a throw of 104’8” and Brown finished 6th with a mark of 102’7”.

Alica Efron picked up a pair of bronze medals in the shot put and discus. She hurled the shot 39’5.25” and the disc 126’2”.

Junior, Jessica Imhoff, placed second in the women’s triple jump. She sailed 33’1.175” for the silver.

On the track, fastman Edward Johnson finished fourth in the men’s 100m dash with a time of 10.94 seconds.

David Rannabargar finished third in the men’s 5000. Fighting the wind, he finished in 17:13.72.

Long-distance women Sunshine Wharton and Lisa Lord finished fourth and fifth in the women’s 3000. Wharton finished in 12:34.82 and Lord in 13:09.34
