KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma Wesleyan’s Sadiel Rojas has been named the NAIA National Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Rojas was selected based on his performances from Jan. 10-16 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

The 6-5 senior forward from Duncanville, Texas, averaged 29.3 points, 14.3 rebounds, 1.0 steals and shot 70 percent (35-for-50) from the floor. He ran his double-digit scoring streak to all 18 games this year. On Jan. 11, Rojas hit 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the 89-63 win against Southwestern Christian (Kan.). He came within one point of tying a season-high after he finished with 39 points and added 14 rebounds in the 95-75 win against York (Neb.) on Jan. 14. One day later, he posted his 14th double-double of the year and sixth-straight with 19 points and 14 rebounds in the 80-64 win against Central Christian (Kan.). In national statistics, Rojas is first in scoring (26.9 ppg), second in rebounding (12.2 rpg) and eighth in field goal percentage (.599).

Lastly, in tuesday’s game versus Ecclesia College Rojas moved into first place in OKWU Men’s Basketball all-time scoring.
