BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (5-16-09) – Oklahoma Wesleyan Lady Eagle basketball is proud to announce the signing of Rebecca Schluter to a letter of intent for the upcoming 2009-2010 basketball season.

A native of Bartlesville, Schluter, a 6-1 center, played her high school basketball for Wesleyan Christian School. She will join former high school teammates Chantel Plummer and Kayla Deal on the Lady Eagle squad.

In high school, Schluter excelled on the court, scoring an outstanding 1,253 career points, pulling down 1,034 career rebounds and blocking 340 shots. In her senior season, she averaged 20.8 points a game, as well as pulling down 337 rebounds and blocking nearly 100 shots.

“Becca has so much God given athletic ability,” said Lady Eagle coach Britney Kannady. “ When you add her will to succeed to that, she could become a great player at our level quickly.”

“She can take smaller players inside and score on them all day, while bring taller opponents out of the paint and attack the basket with her versatility.”

During her prolific career with the Lady Mustangs, Schluter brought time many honors. She helped lead her squad to an Oklahoma Christian School Athletic Association State Championship, named to the OCSAA All-State team three times, Cherokee Conference Most Valuable Player two times, first team All-Conference three times, Examiner-Enterprise Alll-Area Super Team honor and named to the Tri-County All-Star team.
