BARTLESVILLE — Wouldn’t it be a shame if Steve Briggs had to stop doing what he does best?
What Briggs does best is make 3-pointers. He made 497 — some from way beyond the arc, some despite defenders clinging to him like leeches — during a college career that ended in March, when Oklahoma Wesleyan lost a national semifinal game.
Briggs made the fourth-most 3-pointers in college basketball history (all divisions). Perspective: He made 40 more than ex-Duke guard J.J. Redick, who owns the NCAA Division I record.
