Eagles Are No. 5 In Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oklahoma Wesleyan University is ranked No. 5 in the 2014 NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll, which was released by the national office on Tuesday.

The Eagles, which advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA national tournament last season before losing to Auburn Montgomery in double overtime, collected 516 points in coaches’ poll.

The Jamie Peterson coaches side finished the season with 19-4-0 overall record (5-0 MCAC), and secured the the MCAC regular season title.

OKWU was selected as the No. 1 ranked team in the 2014 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Defending national champion Martin Methodist is the No. 1 team in the 2014 NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll, this after receiving 19 of the 20 first place votes.

Ashford (Iowa) , who is ranked at No. 4 received the other vote for first place.
