Bartlesville, Okla. — The Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s basketball team will look to take down another undefeated side this season when it plays host to Barclay College on Saturday.
The Eagles ended the 8-0 start of John Brown University last weekend with a 71-73 victory on the road to extend their own winning streak to seven.
On Saturday Jason Beschta team will be hoping for the same positive result against a Barclay College team currently averaging 92 points per game on the road.
Recently nominated MCAC Player of the Week, Devin Harris is expected to lead the Eagles charges after making an impressive start to his OKWU career.
The junior guard from Edmond, Oklahoma, is coming off a standout week in which he averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game, as he led the Eagles to a pair of victories last week.
Harris was instrumental in Oklahoma Wesleyan’s win over JBU – collecting 17 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three steals to improve his own stats for the season.
OKWU are 8-2 this campaign and have won seven straight since dropping a pair of games against St. Gregory’s University and Mid-America Christian in early November.
At this point in time the streak means nothing to coach Beschta, who constantly demands the very best from his team.
But at 7-0 this season, it is evident that the Barclay College Bears will be another tough road opponent for the Eagles, who are 4-0 at “The Nest.”
