Conway, Ark. — The Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s basketball team battle to an overtime 88-83 victory over Central Baptist in an MCAC conference game on Tuesday night.
Down by 13, the Eagles fought back to send the game into overtime before taking the five point win.
Junior point guard Devin Harris, who shot 9-for-17 from the field, paced the Eagles with an Allround performance of 23 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals.
Tyler Woods, Brian James and Rodrick Ogletree were also in double digit scoring for the Jason Beschta coached team.
Woods ended with 17 points and eight rebounds, James had 12 points and eight boards, while Ogletree added 11 points in the victory.
But despite the win, Beschta acknowledged that his team did struggled in the shooting department, but praised his players for their fighting effort, especially at the defensive end.
“Tremendous 2nd half effort tonight at CBC,” he said. “Down 13 and ended up winning in OT!
He added: “Tough 2 wins on the road. When shooting poorly, won with defense.”
The Eagles are now 18-7 on the season, including 9-3 in conference.
Michael Stevenson led Central Baptist with 25 points, while Carl Corman collected a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds in the defeat.
