Bartlesville, Okla. – Oklahoma Wesleyan University Women’s Basketball is happy to announce the signing of Patience Gitau, head coach Mark Molder said.
Gitau, a six-feet talented forward from San Antonio, Texas, recently committed to play for the Lady Eagles and has signed a national letter of intent Molder revealed.
“We are very excited to have Patience as a member of our team and family,” he said. “She is a special talent and great kid that has a bright future as student athlete at our university.”
Gitau was a standout this year in Texas high school hoops – averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds per game, and was rewarded by being named district Most Valuable Player (MVP), as well as being a member of the Texas All-State team.
She will be joining a Lady Eagles program that will be looking to make their third trip to NAIA National Tournament in as many years.
The Lady Eagles return back to campus in Mid-August in hopes of another great season under the leadership of Molder and his coach staff, which also includes Ashley Jones.
