Bartlesville, Okla. – A brace from senior captain Lucas Almeida piloted the Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over Central Baptist (Ark.) in their MCAC Conference Tournament semi-finals at the OKWU Soccer Complex in Bartlesville, Okla. Friday.
Also getting on the scoresheet were Lucas “BH” Corderio and reserve Brandon Disney, as the No. 4 ranked Eagles brushed aside their challengers and booked a place into Saturday’s final against arch rivals Bellevue, who thrashed Waldorf 4-0 in their semis.
OKWU went ahead in the 30th minute when Almeida converted a penalty kick after Corderio was brought down inside the area.
The hosts and top-seeded Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the interval, but came out more meaningful in the second half and was rewarded with three more goals.
Almeida turned provider for Corderio to make it 2-0 in the 57th, before scoring his second goal of the contest in the 65th.
Disney added a fourth for the Jamie Peterson coached side to secure the well predicted comfortable victory.
Oklahoma Wesleyan and Bellevue meet in the championship game at 1pm on Saturday.
