Bartlesville, Okla — Striker Jack McGowan has been named the MCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15, a released confirmed on Monday.
McGowan, a sophomore from Liverpool, England, netted the game-winning goal in Oklahoma Wesleyan’s 1-0 upset of No. 9 MidAmerica Nazarene University last week.
Meanwhile, freshman goalkeeper Luka Stojanovic landed the Defensive Player of the Week award for his part in helping OKWU keep a clean sheet in the win over these same opponents.
Stojanovic, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, pulled off two impressive saves in the clash last week on his way to his second successive shutout.
The 14th-ranked Eagles, who are 4-1 on the season, will return to action on Tuesday where they will travel to face Oklahoma City University in what is expected to be another tough contest in their early season schedule.
