Bartlesville, Okla. — Megan Jones scored 22 points and led three players into double figures as the No. 8 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball team opened its season with an 85-80 victory over Friends University on Tuesday night.
Jones, who shot 8 for 15 from the field, including 3 of 5 from three point range, also finished with four rebounds in the victory.
Kayla Morgan hit 6 of 8 from three-pointers on her way to scoring 21 points to go along with her six rebounds, while Christa Beasler finished with 20 points in the win inside the Mueller Sports Center.
Kelsey Jones added a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards in the win as well for the Lady Eagles (1-0).
The Lady Falcons were led by Sarah Munds, who had 19 points, while Kayla Justice finished with 16 and Shann Sellers added 14 in the defeat.
Catarina Jones scored 13 points and Ashlynn Steffenson ended with 10.
Oklahoma Wesleyan returns to action again on Saturday at home against Texas Wesleyan University.
