OKWU Baseball leads NAIA Nation with 9 Daktronic Scholar Athletes

Bartlesville, OK — The Oklahoma Wesleyan University baseball program is proud to announce that the program led the NAIA nation in Daktronic Scholar Athletes for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The program had 9 scholar athletes that were recognized by Daktronics. In order to be nominated for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Oklahoma Wesleyan seniors Mason Feeler, Landan Cloud, Jake Palese, Nick Palese, Josh Hemsoth, Chris McElderry and Brendin Vogt were recognized by Daktronics for their academic accomplishments, along with juniors Andrew Murphy and Zach Hendrix.

Head Coach Matt Parker stated: “I am extremely proud of the hard work that these young me have put into the classroom, and I appreciate the way that they have represented our program both on the field and in the classroom.”

Each of the Daktronic Scholar Athlete seniors received their degrees in May. The baseball program wishes Mason, Landan, Jake, Nick, Josh, Chris, and Brendin the best of luck as they begin their professional careers.
