OKWU Men’s Basketball Knocks Off Two Ranked Teams At Home

Bartlesville, Okla. (Click For Box Scores) — Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s basketball team knocked off two ranked programs over the weekend on its way to securing an impressive double at home in MCAC Conference action.

The Eagles picked up a 103-102 double-overtime victory over No. 25 Waldorf College on Friday, before upsetting the No. 8 ranked Bellevue University, 90-85, the following night.

Positive results in both games now see the Eagles improving to 6-1 in the MCAC, and 16-7 overall on the season.

Against Waldorf College Friday night, senior guard Devin Harris scored a team hight 26 points, to go along with his seven assists and six rebounds, while fellow guard Tyler Woods added 23 points, six assists and six rebounds in the win.

Impressive also were Steven Cooks, who ended with 19 points and nine rebounds and Josh Young, who scored 15 points for OKWU.

In the win over arch rivals Bellevue University, senior forward Phillip Jahn finished with a season-high 31 points on 5 of 7 shooting from three-point range to lead the Eagles.

Young ended with 23 points and Harris added 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds in victory.

Oklahoma Wesleyan travels this weekend to play the return fixtures against these two teams, and is confident of securing the season double.
