OKWU Men’s Soccer Beats Kansas Wesleyan; No. 3 In MRPI National Ranking

No. 6 Oklahoma Wesleyan Men’s Soccer played Kansas Wesleyan University who is Nationally receiving votes for the top 25 on Thursday.

The eagles took an early lead scoring 4:58 into the contest with a spectacular display by #17 Lucas Cordeiro. Perica Obradovic played a fast ball into Cordeiro and Cordeiro controld the ball by flicking the ball with the outside of the foot, over the defender and volleying the ball into the net. OKWU out shot KWU 16 to 5 in the first half.

The Eagles looked content after the early goal and struggled to connect passes in the first half. In the second half the Eagles looked sharp as they controlled the game with possession and again outshot KWU 17 to 6 in the second half.

Jack McGowan scored his 5th goal of the year in the 84th minute to put the game to rest. Luka Stojanovic grabbed his 3rd clean sheet on the year out of 5 games and recorded 5 saves on the day.

The Eagles will be in action Saturday as they travel to Tabor College.
