Bartlesville, Okla. – Due to inclement weather, the OKWU Softball double header against St. Gregory’s University this Friday, February 15th, has been rescheduled to February 27th in Shawnee, OK.
The game times are set for 1:00 and 3:00.
Head coach Catherine Reeves grabbed her first win as head coach of the OKWU Softball program at the weekend.
The Lady Eagles are coming off opening weekend where they posted a record of 1-3. On their first day of competition, they traveled to participate in the St. Gregory’s Round Robin Tournament where they lost 4-1 against host team St. Gregory’s and then fell 9-0 in six innings against Oklahoma Baptist University.
Courtney Carson and Jenna Daniel each picked up a loss on the day. The first win of the season came the next day in game one of a double header against Texas Wesleyan University by a score of 5-3.
Carson picked up her first win of the season as the Lady Eagles jumped out early scoring runs in each of the first three innings.
In the second game, OKWU fell 5-0 after the Bison posted four quick runs in the first inning. Katie Kelley took the loss in her first start of the season.
Next week the Lady Eagles Softball team host three teams. The home opener features Ottawa University February 20 with first pitch set at 1:00. Sterling college comes in February 22 beginning at 2:00.
Kansas Wesleyan finishes the week on February 23 starting at 1:00. Each game will be a double header.
