Oklahoma Wesleyan standout Elisa Brito signed professional contract with Apollon FC, from Limassol, Cyprus, where she will be playing the Champions League this coming season.
Brito held stats of 41 goals and 42 assists in her college career.
Among other awards, Brito was All-American in 2012, Offensive Player of the Year, First-team all conference and ranked number 2 in Division 1 assists per game, number 3 Division I total assists among others playing for OKWU in 2013.
Prior to transferring to Apollon FC, Brito played for FC Kansas city, a top NWSL team, under the command of Vlatko Andonovski where she shared the pitch with top world class players such as Lauren Cheney Holiday, Amy Rodriguez and Becky Sauerbrunn, where Brito may return to play next year.
FC Kansas City had a great season last year and all indicates that they will be going the same way this season.
Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s head coach Vladan Glavonic Soccer was delighted to know about Brito’s achievement.
“Elisa is a tremendous player and even better person,” Glavonic said. “She worked extremely hard for this opportunity and I am very proud of her.
“I can’t wait to see how she does this year and what God has in store for her!
