Bartlesville, Okla. — Second half goals from Amber Brown-Longoria and Elisa Brito guided Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over Waldorf (Iowa) in their MCAC Tournament semi-final clash at the OKWU Soccer Complex in Bartlesville, Okla. on Thursday.
After playing out a scoreless first half of action, the Lady Eagles deservingly took the lead through Brown-Longoria, who finished past goalkeeper Kaylee Vitale in the 58th minute, following a nice play involving Paula Vicenzo and Alison Renfro.
And Vicenzo and Renfro were again involved in assisting on the second goal.
A clever pass by from Vicenzo found Renfro down the right hand side before the latter delivered a well weighted cross for Brito to fired home one-time past the keeper to make it 2-0 in the 83rd minute of play.
The Lady Eagles wasted several good opportunities to get early goals in the first half, but head coach Vladan Glavonic will be delighted to earn a place in the championship game.
OKWU will face Bellevue (Neb.) in the final on Friday at 3pm.
