OKWU’s Jovan Petrovic Leads Charlotte Eagles to Victory in the PDL Eastern Conference Championship

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. –¬†Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer standout Jovan Petrovic led his Charlotte Eagles team to a PDL Eastern Conference Championship on Sunday night.

The third time was a charm as the Eagles defeated the Long Island Rough Riders 1-1 (4-2 on penalties).

This marks the second consecutive year that an OKWU men’s soccer player has helped their team reach the PDL semifinals.

Petrovic will be a senior for Oklahoma Wesleyan this upcoming season. In his junior season, Petrovic was on the pitch in 21 matches for the nationally ranked Eagles and started in 15 of those. He recorded three goals and one assist while putting up 20 shots with seven of those on target.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will open their 2017 season at Houston Baptist University (NCAA Division 1) on August 16th in Houston, TX. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
