Price Finishes 2nd, Eagles 7th in Texas

Longview, TX – The Eagles golf team competed in the Letourneau University Invitational held at Pine Crest Country Club in Longview, TX on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles shot 308 in the opening round and were in 5th place after the opening round. The Eagles were led by their senior Cody Price. Price shot an opening round 73 and was tied for 5th after the opening round.

Scott Seymour shot a 75 in his first tournament round of the spring. He was tied for 15th after the opening round. Other Eagle scores from day one included Clayton Sikorski and Kyle Essary who each shot 80 and Taylor Hurd who shot 86.

The second day saw Cody Price make a run at the lead. Price fired a one under 69 in the second round. He was one shot from the winner, but he won the scorecard playoff for second place.

“I thought Cody did a great job this week,” Head Coach T. J. Dickinson said.

“He has been working extremely hard, and he has been a great leader for our program. I am happy for him!”

Other Eagle scores from day two were: Kyle Essary-76 (collegiate career low), Scott Seymour-83, Taylor Hurd-85, and Clayton Sikorski-86.

The Eagles finished 7th overall in the tournament.
