Andrew Murphy has been an assistant coach on the OKWU baseball staff since 2018.

Murphy, a native of Oklahoma City, is a former OKWU baseball player. His collegiate career spanned from 2010-2014 and included a trip to the 2011 NCCAA World Series and the 2014 NAIA semi-finals. He was part of the 2014 OKWU team that led the country with a 58-8 record. He played under head coach Kirk Kelley from 2010-11.

After college, he joined the staff at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He worked with hitters and infielders from 2014-2018. Murphy also helped with recruiting. In 2015, Henderson State reached the DII World Series for the first time in program history, earning its first ever national ranking during that same year.

Murphy’s coaching experience in summer baseball includes stints with the Derby Twins, the Palm Springs Power, and the Medicine Hat Mavericks. In 2018, as head coach of the Mavericks, he led his team to the WMBL championship, earned WMBL Coach of the Year, and saw three of his players go on to sign professional contracts.
