Review Student Aid Report (SAR)
Once you have been accepted to OKWU and filled out the FAFSA, you will receive your Student Aid Report (SAR). Be sure to review the SAR carefully and make sure that all information has been filled out correctly.
Please Note: Your SAR may be selected by the Department of Education for a review process called “verification.” This is noted in the SAR with an * by the EFC and OKWU will also notify you by email. If your SAR is selected, you will be asked to provide additional paperwork which may include a Verification Worksheet, a Tax Transcript, or other items. Please be in communication with the Financial Aid Office if selected for verification.
Accept of Decline Awards
Your initial financial aid award letter is an estimated based on full-time enrollment. You will be offered federal, state, and OKWU aid for which you qualify, including but not limited to grants, work-study, and loans. You will need to sign and return the award letter to the Financial Aid Office to accept or decline the awards.
Your OKWU Financial Aid file will not be considered complete until you have submitted all necessary paperwork. Occasionally, additional forms will be required from you. In all cases, it is the student’s responsibility to make sure his/her file is complete.
Once you have accepted or declined the financial aid you wish to receive, you will be finished with your financial aid process and on your way to finishing your degree.
