Bartlesville, Okla. January 24, 2012. CBS Money Watch ranks OKWU’s professors as best in the nation for the second year in a row.
Yes, you read correctly, OKWU professors were ranked number one in the entire nation – ahead of the faculty of any and all other colleges and universities.
Each year CBS MoneyWatch.com posts the analysis done by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, an education think tank. They develop the rankings through a methodology that uses RateMyProfessors.com evaluations to assess the quality of teachers and then rank the top 650 schools.
This is part of the analysis used by Forbes for their annual college ratings list. The top of the Best Professors for 2011 list included a large number of liberal arts colleges, which by nature have small class sizes and allow for greater collaboration between students and professors than universities with large class sizes.
President of OKWU, Dr. Everett Piper, said this of the news, “The real story here is this: Oklahoma Wesleyan University students, not the administration or the staff or even the faculty, but the students themselves are taking the initiative to find a website, log-on and say ‘our professors are outstanding as is the subject matter they teach!’ If this isn’t an affirmation that good education – the best education – must be grounded in the truth of Christ and the truth of Scripture and taught be godly faculty I don’t know what is!”
The OKWU administration, staff and students congratulate the entire Oklahoma Wesleyan faculty for this recognition of all their incredible work.
