Earning Your Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood
Designed for the working adult the AEC program will provide the skills needed to teach per Kindergarten. Head Starts, private schools and public schools are all looking for qualified early childhood professionals. OkWU is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). OkWU’s education programs are accredited by the Oklahoma State Rengents for Higher Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Program Overview
The program consists of 7 progressive courses in Early Childhood. Classes are taken online one at a time each lasting 5 weeks. Students in this program earn an Associate of Applied Science upon completion of 60 credit hours. The AEC program incorporates standards 1-5 of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
